mTouche in the news for all the wrong reasons

Got this in an email. You know, I complained about mTouche to my mobile phone provider a couple of months back but all they could do was literally piss in a thunderstorm, or so they tell me. maybe this will cause mTouche to take notice. Those bastards deserve every bit of punishment meted out to them for this scam

Hi all,
Just a quick note to let everyone know of a mobile phone scam that’s been going round lately in Singapore. If you’re a mobile phone subscriber, there might have been recent charges to your account which may have been faked.
Subscribers who have received SMS greetings over the recent Chinese New Year period from the short number 77330 will have been charged $1 per greeting. The service is from a company called mTouche ( www.mtouche.com ), and the charge would have been levied even if you’ve not subscribed to their greeting service. mTouche has been fined by IDA ( www.ida.gov.sg ) in the past for the same offence but they seem to be doing it again.
Do check your recent statements carefully. So far it seems only M1 and Singtel customers are experiencing this problem but subscribers to other networks should review their statements just to make sure.
The best thing you can do if you’ve received these extra charges is to send a complain to IDA at info@ida.gov.sg . Don’t bother calling mTouche as they’ve disconnected their phone lines as of this morning. The telcos claim they are unable to do anything about charges levied by a third party.

The mTouche debacle

It seems that almost everyone, well, people in the mobile phone industry that is, is talking about. It is about the mTouche bastards that charged a dollar for SMSes that they never subscribed for, something about Chinese New Year greetings. Even I have been a victim but theirs is something that I feel is highly unethical as they are using WAP push and when you click on it to see what it is, you are transported to a web page and you have to pay for it. I wish those mTouche bastards get what they deserve be cause I do not subscribe to their services and I am pretty sure that lots of the others that were were billed wrongly do not either. So mTouche, I hope you get out of business soon and become a bankrupt company. Unethical bastards like yourselves deserve to fail.

Morning Express or Morning Murder?

Glen Ong and the Flying Dutchman. Those two suck…period. I do not know how they can get up in the morning and look at themselves in the mirror without feeling guilty that they have one of the worst morning shows in Singapore…right there on Class 95. I will not delve into Morning Madness because that would be a different chapter of a totally different book altogether.

But back to the Dud Duo. Those two together have no chemistry and their jokes, well, are not funny. I seem to remember that there was a spat between Flying Dutchman and Glenn Ong some time ago when Glen was at the helm of 98.7 (I cannot even bear to refer to them as the Perfect 10. They did it all by themselves. Self-praise is no praise at all) In any case, these two were literally at each others throats with both of them hosting the morning shows of their respective stations. But now they have kissed and made up apparently but did that save the show? What do you think?

I wonder aloud many a time. Are these the best jocks we have on the radio in Singapore these days? Is there a brain drain of talent? Should these guys be sent off to Siberia? Maybe that would be a good idea before they be charged with murder for killing people with boredom.

Even Vernetta Lopez is not spared the curse of Mediacorp Singapore

Vernetta, Vernetta, what are you doing? Two mistakes today! Gary Moore’s Still Gor The Blues came out in 1990, not 1994! And for crying out loud, Tears For Fears Everybody Wants To Rule The World came out in 1985, not 1986. I am really starting to wonder. For a seasoned radio jock like Vernetta making mistakes, she is obviously reading off some playlist and that playlist must be wrong Vernetta, don’t trust that plalist. Do your own research next time before feeding wrong information to listeners. Well, it must be Mediacorp!

What the hell is with all the advertisements Mediacorp?

Just by chance today, I decided to catch the movie on Channel 5 and it happened to be Tim Burton’s Planet of the Apes. A great movie it would have been if it had not been for Mediacorp Singapore and their fucking advertisements every ten minutes. Right in the thick of the action they just cut it for an advertisement. You fucking prats at Mediacorp, stop being assholes and let people enjoy the shows will ya? I am just about SICK of listening about how successful Singapore Idol is. I just want to watch the show and enjoy a Sunday evening doing just that.

Honestly, local TV here in Singapore sucks. No wonder. With our only local broadcaster produces shows with terrible acting, employees of this very same broadcaster get angsty when criticized and to add further insult to injury, paying a fucking TV license to watch such bad shows that are interrupted by even more irritating advertisements. Thanks for screwing up my Sunday Mediacorp. Thanks a lot.

Over and over again

Its everywhere. God help us. On the radio, on TV and even in the shops when we pass them. Everywhere that has a radio, sound system or mobile phone. No, I am not talking about just anything. I am talking about the Guo Mei Mei and her rip off of the Ozone song. Some thing called Bu Pa Bu Pa or something like that. Man that song is just bloody irritating and as for her website, they said she gave up a job as a financial controller to concentrate on her singing career/ Career you say? I have got news for you girl…don’t quit your day job. Why? Because if cover versions are all you can do, you have just proven once again that most artists here in Singapore are totally devoid of any creativity. I just said that in a previous post now didn’t I?

And there is that Citigems advertisement that seem to be played ad nauseum nowadays as well. The thing is, the backing track is by the Cranberries and is called Dreams. Here is news for you. I used to like that song. No…honestly…I used to. You know what they say about familiarity breeding contempt? Well, we have a prime example here. Playing it once or twice ok lah but the whole bloody 30 minute journey to work in the bus, TV Mobile plays it about fucking eleven times! Eh you assholes! We get the message lah!
