The stupidity is amazing

I just cannot believe it. It is contagious. What is contagious you may ask? Simple my dear reader...stupidity...something that our local broadcasting folks at Mediacorp are always guilty of. In this case, it is stupidity by not checking the facts and not knowing. I happened to read with amusement today's Today newspaper. There was a column that was dedicated to our local "talent pool in the singing department" aka Singapore Idol. Now in this column, Zul Othman seems to think that the song Solitaire was penned by some guy named Clay Aiken, when this beautiful song was in fact made famous years ago by Neil Sedaka. My gosh. Is it SO hard to check your facts before they are printed? I thought this mistakes only happen on Mediacorp Radio but it seems to be spreading to their other divisions as well.

And if it is not stupidity, it is greed. Take the "Makan Places Lost And Found." Mediacorp makes a little booklet available of that series for $2. Can't you guys even put up a page on the internet so that people can print it or even bundle it with a copy of 8-Days Magazine for free? You guys have to make money on everything don't you? Oh yeah, I forgot. its Mediacorp
