Yvonne Low or Loh on Class95
Honestly. I do not know where Mediacorp get their DJs from. I just happened to tune in today because I heard a good song on the radio while channel surfing and I could not believe my ears. She played this song Together In Electric Dreams and said that it was sung by Giorgio Marauder. Yes. That is what she said. First of all, it was song by Giorgio Moroder (pronounced More-roader, not Mau-rauder) and secondly the singer should be Phil Oakey of Human League fame. Secondly, she played a song by The Sugarhill gang and said that it was released in 1982 when it was actually released in 1980. Thirdly, she plays Under Pressure from Queen and David Bowie and says that Vanilla Ice stole the bassline. well, she was hgoing great guns until she said that "All people who love 80's music would know that Vanilla Ice song." What kind of crap is that! Vanilla Ice's Ice Ice Baby came out the freaking 90's man. man I could go on about this but the only good thing is that she was playing some great music, the segues were not that great but still, some great music.
Mediacorp is saying that they are celebrating 70 years of radio and said that some DJs from the various radio stations are going to do a gag and keep silent for 70 hours. Maybe that is a good idea because I think that this person whould keep quiet for 70 years, not hours. Maybe she should take her foot out of her mouth and know how to pronounce as well as know her bloody FACTS before she says another word on radio. Oh and as a final parting shot, she was talking about the Smurfs and do you know how she prounced it? Smerse (you know, as in "immerse"). I give up.
Wake UP Mediacorp! Please!
